This shoot was fun. And crazy! Bonnie and Trevor were the first people to ask me to take pictures for them a few years back and were some of the first to encourage me to pursue photography. Their confidence in my abilities has been an incredible blessing and, at points, a wonderful stand in for when I find my own confidence lacking. So, when they asked me to snap a few family photos, the answer was an easy and resounding yes.
The McMakens are in the process of planting a church in Aurora, IL, which is so exciting! It has been amazing to watch the Lord lead them in this process and I can't wait to see their story play out. We piled into their car one afternoon and explored the downtown area for a bit. It was wonderful to experience their joy as they showed me their new home, pointing out favorite spots and nooks. Besides, the kiddos, Nora and Finn, had me in stitches with all their crazy faces and antics. (To this point, can we all just acknowledge that Nora is a model? Simply a model. I had to limit the number of images I picked, lest this becomes a post all about her.)
Oh, and they took me out to Chipotle afterwards... So. Yeah. It was a good day. #willworkforfood
Bonnie, Trevor, Nora, and Finnie, thanks for letting me spend time with you! I am thankful for your friendship and encouragement.
